What is the Arabic Language Arc?
The Arabic Language Arc extends Arc Pathway's holistic, play-based profiling to children's Arabic language development. It assesses each child's progress from their own starting point, across listening, conversation, reading and writing, rather than against a fixed benchmark.
Does it work for native and non-native speakers?
Yes. It includes descriptor sets for both native and non-native Arabic speakers, so children in the same class can each be assessed against expectations that fit their starting point. This matters in international schools, where Arabic groups often include first-language speakers and complete beginners.
How do teachers record Arabic observations?
In the same observation-led way as the rest of Arc Pathway. Teachers record what they see children doing and link those observations to Arabic descriptors. The profile builds over time, with no separate testing exercise.
What reporting does it provide?
Individual pupil reports for each child, plus cohort data by class, year group and subgroup. Arabic leads and senior leaders get the same view of Arabic that they already have for the rest of the curriculum.
Does it help with the KHDA Standard Arabic requirement in Dubai?
Yes. From September 2025, KHDA requires Dubai settings to deliver and evidence Standard Arabic learning for children aged four to six. Do we need the full Arc Pathway platform?
The Arabic Language Arc is designed as an add-on to Arc Pathway, and schools that choose it get the full platform too. If you only want Arabic assessment, mention it when you book and we'll talk you through the options.
How is it priced?
Per child, per year, as an add-on. No set-up fees, no charge for staff or parents, and training and support are included. Discounts are available for school groups. We'll give you an exact quote after the demo.
Is our data safe?
Your data is stored in the UK, in Microsoft Azure UK data centres, with backups also kept in the UK. We can send our terms and data protection documents to your data protection lead.
Can we use Zoom or Google Meet instead?
Yes. We run demos on Microsoft Teams, but we're happy to use whatever works best for your school. Just let us know when you book.
Is Arc Pathway used by schools in the Gulf?
Yes. Arc Pathway is used by British international schools and early years settings across the region, including in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt, as part of a user base in more than 27 countries.
