From September 2025, KHDA requires Dubai settings to deliver — and evidence — Standard Arabic learning for children aged four to six. The Arabic Language Arc extends Arc Pathway’s holistic, play-based profiling to children’s Arabic language development: assess each child’s progress from their starting point and produce the assessment data KHDA expects, alongside your existing early years and Year 1 provision.

I've never seen anything so well thought out; content and visually. So much thought is behind it. It aligns so well with what we want to achieve and it fills our gaps in knowledge.

Doing the assessment profiles for the first time was honestly a eureka moment. Wow!

Frequently asked questions
Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. You can also find more information on our support page.
Is Arc Pathway used by schools in the Gulf?
Arc Pathway is used by British international schools and early years settings across the region, including in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt, as part of a user base spanning more than 27 countries. A 2025 study by researchers at University College London found that teachers using Arc Pathway demonstrated significantly higher competence in assessing and supporting children's development than non-users.
How much does Arabic language assessment cost?
Arabic language assessment is priced per child per year, with no set-up fees and no additional charges for adding staff members or parents. Training and support are included. Group discounts are available for school groups. Contact the team for an exact quote for your setting.
How do teachers record Arabic observations?
The Arabic Language Arc uses the same observation-led approach as the rest of Arc Pathway. Teachers record what they see children doing and link those observations to Arabic language descriptors, which builds the assessment profile over time rather than requiring a separate testing exercise.
Do we need the full Arc Pathway platform to use Arabic language assessment?
No. The Arabic Language Arc can be used on its own, alongside whatever platform a school already uses for the rest of its early years assessment, or as part of the full Arc Pathway platform. Schools that use both get Arabic progress sitting in the same place as every other area of learning.
Does Arc Pathway help with the KHDA Standard Arabic requirement in Dubai?
From September 2025, KHDA requires Dubai settings to deliver — and evidence — Standard Arabic learning for children aged four to six. The Arabic Language Arc profiles each child's Arabic language development and produces the assessment data KHDA expects. This particular requirement applies to KHDA-regulated settings in Dubai; schools elsewhere in the Gulf can use it to evidence Arabic provision without it being tied to that mandate.
What reporting does Arabic language assessment provide?
The Arabic Language Arc produces individual pupil reports for each child and cohort data reports by class, year group and subgroup. This gives Arabic leads and senior leadership the same view of Arabic that they already have for the rest of the curriculum, rather than Arabic sitting outside the assessment data.
Does Arabic language assessment work for both native and non-native speakers?
Yes. The Arabic Language Arc includes descriptors for both native and non-native Arabic speakers, so children in the same class can each be assessed against expectations appropriate to their starting point. This matters in international schools, where Arabic cohorts often span first-language speakers and complete beginners.
What is the Arabic Language Arc?
The Arabic Language Arc extends Arc Pathway's holistic, play-based profiling to children's Arabic language development. It assesses each child's progress from their own starting point rather than against a fixed benchmark, and can be used on its own or as part of the full Arc Pathway platform.
